  Introduction

Have you considered entering a body painting competition?

Sometimes we need a looming deadline to bust ourselves out of creative hibernation and put everything we've got into a really awesome body paint. Competitions are a wonderful opportunity to get creative and see a piece through to the finish line.

You don't have to be a competitive person to enjoy a body painting competition. Many artists use competitions as a personal challenge to learn new techniques, explore new ideas, and as an incentive to bring an idea to life. It's also really great seeing what your peers create by your side on the day. The camaraderie is a real joy! And seeing your finished piece walk down the catwalk gives you a real sense of achievement. So even if you don't care about winning, it's a really worthwhile experience.

This section will cover:

  • A rundown of what to expect on competition day
  • Common body painting competition categories
  • A guide to judging criteria
  • How to make the most of your painting time on the day of the competition
